David Templeton

David Templeton is a Bay Area arts journalist
 and playwright best known locally for his work
 as Community Editor of the Petaluma Argus-Courier, The 
North Bay Bohemian (for which he was the theater reviewer for 16 years), The Pacific Sun, Strings Magazine and others. Earlier this year, he was awarded the first place prize for writing by the California Newspaper Publishers Association, and was awarded the second place prize for best newspaper column (for his “Culture Junkie” column in the Argus-Courier). As 
a playwright, he’s won awards for his writing
 of “Wretch Like Me,” which has had runs at the San Francisco Fringe Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, in Scotland. His other plays include “Drumming with Anubis” (which had its world premier at Left Edge Theatre in June of this year), “Pinky,” and “Mary Shelley’s Body,” the latter adapted from his novella of the same name, published in the 2016 anthology ‘Eternal Frankenstein.” His fiction writing has appeared in a number of publications, and his original story, “Questions and Answers,” appeared in 2017’s award-nominated anthology “Tales From a Talking Board.” David’s next play, “Galatea” (about a robot and her therapist), will have its world premiere at Spreckels Performing Arts Center in March of 2020.
