I.D.E.A
INCLUSION, DIVERSITY, EQUITY & ACCESS
Left Edge fosters a culture of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access within our theatre. We will not tolerate harm against any based on their race, religion, nationality, gender, age, class, sexual orientation, immigration status or ability. We value and respect all people, their identities, and their histories, and actively seek to empower those who have had their power diminished for the privilege of others. We believe that everyone should have access to the arts, and we take steps to ensure that our theatre is accessible to all communities.
Left Edge recognizes that the land we are on, the artists we work with, and the staff that operates our theaters have been exploited by systems of oppression. We are committed to the long-term work necessary to dismantle these systems. We have a responsibility to be introspective and take ownership of how our actions affect various communities. We will strive to learn, grow, and change, as our culture and institution evolves, examining our own imperfections and opening channels when it is time for us to listen. Our commitment will be ongoing, imperfect, and with the intention of correcting and learning from missteps when they cause social or cultural harm. We do this work to uplift marginalized voices in our art with the belief that Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access are vital to the Human Experience, and the foundation of the stories we seek to share.
