First and foremost, we are very glad to hear from so many in the community that are safe and sound in this difficult time. We've heard heart-wrenching stories of loss, amazing stories of survival, and inspiring stories of determination and perspective. So many have lost so much, but a common thread is expressed over and over—the great people in this area will eventually come back stronger than before. Very true. Many of you have reached out to us wondering about the status of Left Edge Theatre. The good news is our space is intact. Everything east of our space (the atrium, Anova School, and the East auditorium) was decimated by fire. The rest of the Center is intact. Though we narrowly escaped the terrible fire damage at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, we didn't escape damage altogether. Reportedly, there is smoke and water damage in our space that will prevent us from immediately reopening. In the coming weeks, fire specialists working the LBC management will assess the repair effort to the center and determine what restoration efforts are necessary in order to make the center safe for the public to re-enter. The LBC has assured us they are committed to resuming normal programming as soon as possible, and so are we.
